Geo locked Streaming

Post by Chopper50 » Sat Jun 23, 2018 6:49 pm

Hi all,
I just signed up for the 12 month package and currently configured on a pfsense router. I have in the past used smartDNS services to stream, Hulu,Netflix usa,NBC sports and Sling usa, while im out of the country. But I was always concerned about privacy ect when browsing ect on the network.
I have tried a few openvpn USA configs but all throw the proxy error when trying to connect. I just wanted to know, is it possible to pass any of these services through the VPN?

Regards

@OP

Just to be clear, you are at home and trying to stream from Hulu, Netflix etc from behind your pfSense instance (which is configured to use Cryptostorm), correct?

Many of these streaming services make a point of hunting down the IP addresses of the more popular VPN services and adding them to a blocklist. Unfortunately Cryptostorm is one of those VPN services.

Hi parityboy,

Thanks for the reply, Yes I travel to USA quite a bit for periods of time, so it was to watch them when I return home. Its a shame they have taken this stance, as is does discriminate legitimate users in their own country who value privacy. Not to worry, I'll sort something out.

Have a good day!
