Re: Split Tunneling

@thread Split tunnelling is indeed useful. I use it in my VM: torrents and other communications go over the VPN, my NZB client uses SSL over the clearnet. My Usenet setup currently means there's no advantage to using it through a VPN (this will change soon though), therefore the additional CPU load...

cstorm speedtest results & speed-tuning discussions

A long time ago, in the begging of aDSL the common problem in my country was bad download speeds, and false propaganda by the ISP's. Re: "Hello" topic

Hi and welcome. I'm fairly new myself, I've never been on the "other side" (CC), so this new way to connect to a VPN is just great. For me using bitcoin for buying is just great, since I have a lot of people that pay me with that.

Re: poll: where to add new exitnode clusters?

@Tealc I really don't know what it is with European Internet providers, they just cannot stand the idea of handing out a symmetrical connection. I'd take 100/100 over 300/15 or even 300/30 which is what they have in the UK. It seems to be only the Scandinavian countries that recognise the benefit o...

Re: poll: where to add new exitnode clusters?

@Tealc Is that 300Mb/s connection symmetrical or asymmetrical? What's the upload speed? It's asymmetric: 300Mb/s Download 15Mb/s Upload It's true that the upload speed is a big shit, but it's still great! On the other side, there is another provider with fiber optic that gives 1Gb/s (download/uploa...

Re: cryptostorm: non-widget Windows config file beta testing

When I put the certificate and key file "infile" like the modification that you did, openvpn simply doesn't start and it doesn't produce ANY error, it just "stands" there doing nothing, strange ah? Hmm... Could you send me a copy of the config file in question? It's this one here: https://cryptosto...

Re: poll: where to add new exitnode clusters?

@Tealc I've also recentry read that in the UK, Virgin Media Business will sell you a 1Gb/s symmetrical link for £21,000 per year and that's if you're already connected to the Virgin network. If not, it's £30,000 per year. I swear these people make up their prices out of thin air... Shit that's expe...

@Pattern_Juggled Every time that I read one of your remarks I just remember my old "Computer Science" Professor, he was one of the first ever to teach "Computer Science" and we would though that the "old Professor" would stop in time, but NO, he keeps on puling every remark and comment that we did o...

Re: cryptostorm: non-widget Windows config file beta testing

Operandi, I don't now why but with all the crt, key included in the ovpn file it doesn't work.... do you have any idea? Do you mean that your config stopped working? Could you explain the problem in detail? When I put the certificate and key file "infile" like the modification that you did, openvpn...

Re: poll: where to add new exitnode clusters?

@Tealc I've recently read that Portugal now have the 6th biggest datacentre in the world, which is also the biggest in Europe . Looks like Portugal is on the up-and-up. :) I actually didn't know that.... great... Portugal is on the fast track to higher technology. Actually when I left Portugal the ...

Re: version control: non-widget Windows conf's, most current

Ive tested widget on 4 different machines, using XP, Win7 both x32 and x64, all use in the neighborhood of 20% to 25% of cpu, I always hope it lets the cpu useage go as other programs do, but regardless if system is idle or not, it runs hard. as for my own machine, if I use the widget, I can her it...

Re: poll: where to add new exitnode clusters?

So I have my "2 cents" on this cluster thing.... :-D 1) I really don't believe that putting a cluster in the USA is the smart way to go, since the recent events I've shutdown 2 servers that the company that I worked for add in Florida and LA. We shouldn't trust a USA based company, period! 2) Switze...
