Re: Error: the plugin doesn't support import capability, Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

This is a know issue with 16.04!! And there are currently no workaround! Ubuntu broke the network-manager-openvpn, if you updated from 15.10 with that working you should be fine but you will not be able to import ovpn conf's files.
I found this out the worse way, brand new laptop install with 16.04, put it like the way I wanted, them tried VPN, and manage to import ovpn conf's files by separating the cert's & keys from the conf, it imported fine, but when connecting with would scream some stupid error, I submitted the error and found that many, many others had the same problem.

Still you can use command line, there it works just fine! :-D

Re: Advice on combating legal attacks and copyright stuff

@OP

Assuming you find the right DC that doesn't ask you for your ID, that has ToS that doesn't just terminate your account after the first stupid letter, them you should:

- Create a fake company for this project
- Create fake online identities for the owner of this fake company
- Get staff that knows how to answer fast to DDOS
- Never contract an exterior company to help you out
- Get a DC that allows you to directly get your DCMA, complains & others to you and not getting them transferred to you, this way the DC will never know until the last stage
- Always respond to any letter properly formatted, just ignore the DCMA spam bots, there are a couple of sites that show you examples on how to do it
- Always do has Lavabit and CS, tell yours customers the truth, if you get some kind of law enforced document to provide info about someone just close down the server
- Most important, KEEP NO LOGS WHATSOEVER, IF YOU KEEP NO LOGS THERE ARE NOTHING TO HAND OVER TO LAW ENFORCEMENT!

Hope this helps you out,

that site isn't the best for that, try ipleak.net :-D

Nevertheless that "long ip" you're talking is kind of troubling me, can you post a picture or maybe check that your tunnel device tap/tun for the ip's that are being pushed by it, and them check the ethernet/wifi device to see what ip's are there?

Still a word of advice, disable IPV6 network wide, it will leak your real position, don't forget that CS is ipv4.

In my wife's Windows10 I went to the network manager and manually edit all network devices and remove the ipv6 feature.

Hi there, yeah when you start a OpenVPN instance it goes system wide, there are a couple of "mambo jambo" in iptables to bypass certain ports and protocols, but I don't recommend this (& I actually can't find the site where I saw that)

Yes, it's working fine, it seams that the problem was that using the AirVPN program for a trial made my tap driver set the DNS to manual and with that it didn't get the DNS from CS.

So... all is good, and block-outside-dns works just fine.

So.... after a little troubleshooting with fermi on IRC I removed OpenVPN program and Windows TAP driver and installed everything once again (i deleted the app data also and all folders) and now it works, it's once again that problem with the tun/tap driver in windows 10, after some updates it gets broken for some reason :-D (actually I made a topic about this and now I didn't think it was that)

@df

Just a little off-topic, how are we with the dns leak issue? Because I was using the "block-outside-dns" in my ovpn conf files and it worked just fine, after this TrackerSmacker implementation I can no longer browse the internet if I leave that option, I can't resolve dns names. So I was kind of obligated to remove that option from the conf file, and when I did that I get this:
dnsleak_portugal.jpg
Has you can see it doesn't show the Portugal deepdns, it only queries my own dnscrypt server.

Still I cannot guarantee that this will have anything to do with that TS stuff :-D

I've said it once and I will say it over and over again, censorship is censorship no matter if someone thinks that is for the right reason or not, and has we all agree this is for a good, very good, reason since nobody like adware/malware/cookies/trackers and nowadays the web is full of it.

Still, "My data, my problem", it's my motd! Has I don't agree with my ISP saying what site I can or cannot visit, or with my bank android app telling me that I can't use it with a rooted android phone, it's my choice, my problem, if I can't chose, for example, today see the fu**ing ads and tomorrow don't, that's a limitation of my freedom.

I stand beside everything CS has made and this wonderful VPN product but I cannot agree with this decision.

I've already tried this with my openwrt router (couple of years ago), and no matter what list you find out there, we will see a lot of users saying that they can't connected to this or that site, in a nutshell this kind of blockage should be always up to the user & not impose by the CS VPN!

You should maybe have one dnscrypt with adware blocker but never forced by the push request in the openvpn server side conf file.

We can consider this a limitation of my "internet freedom", "My data, my problem", I chose a VPN to be free of my ISP restrictions and EU data retention, so please CS staff consider a new approach on this stuff.

In the long run this kind of stuff will bring more problems them solutions,

Re: No longer connecting using Cryptostorm 2.2 Widget

This is really strange, but why do with me it works with the dll and with that "solution" you put? Now how do I know each one to use?

EDIT: Funny fact, I needed to add "verb 5" to the conf file so I could see if the option was enable or not, so I recommend that CS change ALL ovpn conf files to have this option in them.

Fri Feb 26 22:05:41 2016 us=926059 block_outside_dns = ENABLED
Khariz wrote:So, I've been messing around with "--block-outside-dns" since the DLL files don't work for me. I think I figured out the problem. It's kind of silly. openvpn-gui.exe doesn't accept the argument --block-outside-dns, but openvpn.exe itself does.

Doesn't that just mean that we could make it a standard .ovpn configuration option? Just put "block-outside-dns" as an option under client?

Edit: Yep, that works. It causes the following line to magically appear in the log:

Fri Feb 26 14:43:54 2016 Blocking outside DNS

It works! You just use the command as an argument in the .ovpn file, not when calling the GUI executable in the first place.

Re: No longer connecting using Cryptostorm 2.2 Widget

That's actually not true, at all!
I know they say that's include but it's not true it leaks like a "bitch".

I'm currently running OpenVPN 2.3.10 with Windows 10 Home and when you start the program with "--block-outside-dns" (if you don't do this it leaks, since the program doesn't start it automatically) it shout's and error saying that option isn't valid, you could just "openvpn-gui.exe --help" and there you will see all the options, this "--block-outside-dns" is not there.

The dll file I quoted is for the 64bit version of OpenVPN, you should put it in full_path/to/openvpn/bin them you should edit your *.ovpn conf file and after the "client" put the line "plugin fix-dns-leak-64.dll"

You shouldn't run the dll... it's only readable by the OpenVPN GUI

Don't forget to run the OpenVPN has administrator!

Khariz wrote:Tealc,

According to the documentation on that github page, the DNS leaks were fixed in OpenVPN 2.3.9 and later (and you linked 2.3.10). That DLL appears to be a Windows Vista file, and does not load properly in Windows 10 for me, thus preventing me from connecting in OpenVPN. The Github indicates that the DNS leak is resolved in 2.3.9+, so I think we are okay as long as we aren't using the widget.

This Windows 10 is really a fu**ing spyware!

My really good recommandation for anything VPN related when using Windows 10 is to use a Router with OpenVPN, that way there are no leaks since Windows doesn't see the "real ip" never...

WARNING: Windows 10 and CS widget 2.2 leaks dns!

You're better in getting the latest version of OpenVPN (https://swupdate.openvpn.org/community/ ... x86_64.exe) and using this plugin (https://github.com/ValdikSS/openvpn-fix-dns-leak-plugin) with the *.ovpn conf file.

- Stay in the same node, if you change node, search for another port

Thank you very much to the 10 people that bought this product, and specially to the 3 first ones that tested the "security" of it.

I'm sorry to have to canceled it but it just wasn't profitable enough (for the must part I lost money), because shipping and customs were a pain in the ass, one particular order I got a letter from US Customs saying that this product was considered illegal in the "Land of the brave" since it wasn't FCC approved!

For anyone interested in the project, it did worked very well, no major problems, and Matthew Green got to test one from a friend of mine for a week and told him this was a "Small wonder of security for the average user".

So I encourage anyone to build your own "router/switcher", I'm going to build a "How-TO guide" for this device.

AFAIK the node is working, we are actually able to connect to him, but there is no outside world connection, it maybe a problem with iptables/routing (should ping DF about that).

So the pingdom is actually that, a ping every XX seconds to see if the server is alive... it has nothing to do with connection capability, or so I think ;-D

Re: Tealc's News

@dfkt

This is actually a very good product I have to say that I'm surprised about it's performance, not so much about the eat it produces (really need to try a aluminum case or put a fan in there), if you want one you will need to get in line, I currently have 5 orders, I'm making one at a time, since this involves a lot of work and patience.

@parib

Honestly, with my naked connection, ISP Modem <--> PC by Ethernet cable, I usually get 98.75Mbps at speedtest.net with ISP Modem <--> Network Switch <--> PC by Ethernet cable, I usually get 90.40Mbps when connected to CH node.
I had a WDR3600 that made 40Mbps with cable, so this is a big improvement and it looks like a TV Box, nobody says it's a router, ah and btw Pfsense rules :-D
Of course I will send this to Europe, actually anywhere in the world, there is one in China.
You need to know that I'm sending this from Switzerland so normally Customs will make you pay Import Duties, the declared value is 100EUROS and always "Gift"

I will be setting up a order from to reflect the pre-order process, stay tuned to this topic

Hi there, so did you got your token from the token bot?

Can you input your token at the tokenizer to check if it's valid? https://cryptostorm.nu/

How are you trying to connect? With the widget, or openvpn?

Re: Is anyone there?

@OP

Sorry to hear that you're having problems, this "communication" part of CS has always been a little difficult, and it tend to be a little bit more in the big holidays/vacations periods, I've found that if you tweet them asking for help and put a link to a page in this forum, some "monkey" from staff will sure to answer :-D

ntldr is right, Cryptofree version is only limited in "speed", nothing else!

You're having dns leaks in Windows 7, with the CS widget? Did you get the latest version only from here: https://www.cryptostorm.ch/download/file.php?id=1428 ?

Do you run another firewall besides Windows 7 firewall? Because the "Dns Leak Prevention" that comes with the widget will only work with default windows firewall

Ah btw, if you buy your token (6 month to 1 year) from a independent seller like me, you will always have, almost 24H/7 help support, and it's the same price as with CS main site :-)

Re: WNR3500U/L/V2 - Tomato 1.28 - Speed issues

This may bring some "divergence" in ideas but I've installed my share of routers (https://mirciado.com/wp/?product=tealcs-cs-router) with OpenVPN for CS only, and I found out that:

1) CPU of the router is the big bottleneck, so get a faster router :-D, OR JUST

2) use OpenWRT CHAOS CALMER (15.05 RC3) gives almost identical speeds as a laptop running OpenVPN, but you can't install LUCI, has it needs all the available memory it can, I'm running mine with TP-LINK TL-WDR36000 connected to CS and it's almost as fast as in the laptop.

3) If you only want Tomato, there are a lot a forks from the original but the best one is without a doubt http://tomato.groov.pl/ :-)

This is my "2 cents" on this router/openvpn/CS VPN stuff, I have to say that like you, I'm protected for 1 year now, and my router automatically cycles connection every day :-) or when it reaches a premeditated number of incoming connections, it also flushes internal DHCP's (yeah I know I'm paranoid lol)

OpenVPN / Windows 7/8/8.1/10 & it's TAP/TUN Device problem

So once again, Microsh*t broke the TAP/TUN device in the new version of Windows 10, this happens since XP, every new version the same problem

Has I personally don't use the CS Widget, this tutorial will be for the OpenVPN software, BUT IT WILL WORK FINE for CS Widget since it's the same problem.

First let's remove ALL previous versions of OpenVPN & CS Widget or other programs that installs TAP/TUN devices.
Just go to "Add/Remove Programs" and search for programs that you know they will install that, for me it was: OpenVPN 2.22, TAP-Windows 9.21, CS widget & TeamViewer

Then go to your "Devices Manager" and erase any TUN/TAP devices you could find there.
5.jpg
Now let's install everything, please DO NOT ignore the previous step or this will not work.

1) Download OpenVPN latest from their download page here (You should chose the 32-bit or 64-bit, don't use the 32-bit/64-bit version if your system is only 32-bit) and install, don't forget to select the "OpenSSL Utilities" & "OpenVPN RSA" options!
1.jpg
2) Install the new TAP Windows Device and "Trust OPENVPN Techonologies software" - DO NOT START THE APPLICATION!
2.jpg
3) Go to the directory where you installed OpenVPN, normally its something like: "C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\bin"
Search for the "openvpn-gui.exe" and do "Properties" - "Execute has administrator"
3.jpg
4) Go to the desktop OpenVPN icon and right-click on it. Select “Advanced”
Then select "Execute has administrator"
4.jpg
5) Now you can either download the original OVPN conf's files or just grab mine from here, then go to the "C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\config" and put them there (it needs at least 2 files, the ovpn conf and the client.dat), don't forget to change the "client.dat" file and here it says "PUT HASHED TOKEN HERE" do that :lolno:

Re: Widget Hangs On Logging intio Darknet

Hi there. First thing first:

- CS has I2P and TOR built in, so when using CS VPN normally you should be able to access ALL the darkweb sites without having to run the specific software
- Windows 10 is bringing, once again since XP and with all versions, the TUN/TAP problem when using the widget or any other software that automatically installs a TUN/TAP device
- All exit nodes should work exactly the same way relating TOR/I2P and DNS, so changing the node will not change anything about that

So, solutions?
I know it's not optimal but if it was me I would uninstall the CS widget and all software that create TUN/TAP devices, like OpenVPN or other software from others VPN's, then reboot system (not standby, really shutdown and them turn on again).

After this follow a guide

I'm actually surprise that this didn't happened sooner. There are so many DC's that are terminating VPN services inside their networks due to the new legislation that's been coming to light all over the world.

This is just the beginning, a lot more are yet to come, and this is why I'm a 100% supporter of CS, at least they keep up with their word and if anything is not right in the DC, they just terminated the node, others WILL report you to the DC, just to keep getting money from the others users.

Yeah besides putting the file and telling the config where the file is you should really put it in the conf it-self like with any conf from Linux section.

Did you tried another node just to be sure? Did you checked if your token is valid? Did you reboot the system?

The strange part with your logs is that it can't even tell the tun interface to put the IP up.... are you sure that openvpn has tun/tap devices?
Because with my OpenVPN config for OpenWRT I have to manually create the tun0 interface...

Besides this I really can't help you any further since Tomato isn't my expertise, sorry, I'm putting this up on the CS twitter account, someone will come by to properly answer you

Re: Tomato 1.28

You don't have the CA certificate in the conf.
The only thing you have to enter here is the CA certificate from Cryptostorm.

That is it, with these settings you should be able to get a working Cryptostorm enabled Tomato router.
If I was you I would do something like the one bellow, this is actually for my configuration with OpenVPN in OpenWRT, you would need to find out via terminal what's the correct openvpn directory, I do know that in the tutorial above you would enter that conf in the GUI but I've seen a lot of errors coming from that:
cat >> /etc/openvpn/TrustedRoot.pem << EOF

Since my beginning here in CS that android had that problem, I've solved it just by adding the IP and not the FQDN, I know that this isn't optimal, but it works

That's why I'm running Zone Alarm Pro in all my windows boxes, and several clever IPtables rules in my linux boxes.

I always recommend to my friends using a Router like this one: https://mirciado.com/wp/?product=tealcs-cs-router
With some IPtables rules, there is no connection to the outside world if the tun0 interface isn't working.

I've sold more them 20 of them :-D (free pub LOL )

Re: Why is there no edit button on my posts?

The forum configs prevent the edit after 10 minutes.

I know it's quite annoying, but at least what you say will last for eternity :-)

Hi there wolverine, I can't send you e-mails, all of them are bouncing back.
Can't you send me an e-mail from another account?

Thank you.

Where did you bought your token?

Did you supply your e-mail address to receive it? If so did you checked your spam folder?

Re: How many devices can I use simultaneously?

Actually .... it should be ONE device for token, and MongoDB should update on all nodes at the same time to prevent using the same token in different nodes, it's actually the same process when a token expires :-)

Don't tell anyone, but this doesn't really happen, if you use two or more devices with the same token you will have some random disconnects with AUTH FAILURE or not LOL

Re: Poor d/l speed

@op

Hhummmm this is actually very strange....
I don't have a solution for you, but my I ask if you rebooted windows? ipconfig is a bitch some time and when I want to start from scratch I just "ipconfig /renew" I know it's a trivial but just tried it :-D

@staff

It's important to better implement the "cap" feature in cryptofree, I still have colleagues doing 20MB/s downloads :-D

Away from the forum

Hi there ppl, so has most of you may have noticed, at least I hope so, I've been out of the forum stuff, twitter & android confs for quite a while now, this is due to the fact that I've changed my job

I was working has a Telecommunications Engineer for a big national company for about 4 years now, in February I was approached by one of the "big net devils" and after a lot of meetings and setting things right, I will start working there in the beginning of the month of April.

It's awesome I'm really happy about this and I would like to share that with you guys, do you know why?

Because CS is been my "family" away from home, it's been the place where I've found new persons with the same goals in life, It's the place where my faith in humanity was restored (DesuStrike knows why), where I've made good connections and had good discussions about a numerous things.

I think the next month is going to be super crazy, but I promise to keep up in the news and stay updated with all the awesome things CS staff & this community is doing in helping others protect them selves against all the wrongs in internet privacy :problem:

I've got a new Nexus 6 from my new boss today but unfortunately there is no rooting allowed (but it's a developer edition) so know I have to figure out how to use it really well, because I don't want some IT guy reading the texts I send my wife LOL, does any one here has any experience in Android app's to protect privacy while calling, sending texts, surfing the web, etc ....
I'm currently using TextSecure Private Messenger, K-9 and APG & Ostel: Encrypted Phone Calls, OpenVPN with CS for internet stuff. Should I change anything?

So once again, thank you all!
